Track Tanzania Passport Application
Check the status of your Tanzania e-passport application. Whether you applied online or at an embassy, here is how to track your application progress.
Online Tracking (Applied Within Tanzania)
If you applied through the e-Services portal, you can track your application online:
- Visit eservices.immigration.go.tz
- Log in with your account credentials
- Navigate to "My Applications" or "Application Status"
- View the current status of your passport application
Common statuses:
- Submitted - Application received and awaiting review
- Processing - Application is being processed
- Biometrics Required - Attend immigration office for fingerprints
- At Printing - Passport is being printed
- Ready for Collection - Passport is ready to collect
Tracking (Applied at Embassy Abroad)
If you applied at a Tanzania embassy or high commission abroad, tracking options are more limited:
- Contact the embassy directly by phone or email with your receipt number
- Visit the embassy in person to enquire about your application status
- Expected timeline: 6-12 weeks from the date of application
- SMS/Email notification: Some embassies will contact you when your passport is ready
Keep your application receipt safe. It contains your reference number which is needed for all status enquiries.
