Tanzania Safari Visa Guide 2026

Tanzania is home to the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, and some of the best wildlife viewing in Africa. Here is everything you need to know about visa and entry requirements for a safari trip.

There is no special "safari visa". You need a standard Tanzania e-Visa, which covers all activities including safari, beach holidays, and mountain climbing.

Visa Requirements for Safari

  • e-Visa: Apply at visa.immigration.go.tz (USD 50 single entry)
  • Passport: Valid for 6+ months with 2 blank pages
  • Yellow fever: Certificate required if from endemic country
  • Return flight: Proof of departure from Tanzania
  • Accommodation: Safari lodge/camp booking confirmation
