Application Process
Call +49 30 3030800 or email the Embassy to schedule your visit.
Prepare all required documents including passport photos, birth certificate, and residence permit.
Attend your appointment at Eschenallee 11, Berlin. Biometric data (fingerprints and photograph) will be captured.
Pay by cash at the Embassy or bank transfer as directed.
Your application is forwarded to the Immigration Department in Dar es Salaam. Standard processing takes 4-8 weeks.
Collect in person from the Embassy or receive by registered post.
Photo Requirements
- Biometric format (35mm x 45mm)
- White background
- Full face, front view, eyes open
- Taken within last 6 months
- No glasses or sunglasses
- No head coverings (unless religious)
- No digital alterations
- No uniforms
German biometric photo standards from any Fotostudio are accepted. Photos taken at passport photo booths (Fotoautomat) are also acceptable if they meet the above requirements.
Child Passport Applications
Parents or legal guardians may apply for a Tanzanian passport for children under 16. Both parents must consent to the application.
Additional Requirements for Children:
- Child's birth certificate (Geburtsurkunde) - original or certified copy
- Both parents' valid passports (copies)
- Consent letter from absent parent (Einverstandniserklarung)
- Court custody order if applicable (Sorgerechtsnachweis)
- Two biometric photos of the child
- Child's Aufenthaltstitel or registration
