Visa on Arrival
Canadian citizens are eligible for a visa on arrival at the following Tanzanian entry points:
- Julius Nyerere International Airport (DAR), Dar es Salaam
- Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO)
- Abeid Amani Karume International Airport, Zanzibar
- Namanga Border Post (Kenya-Tanzania)
Health Requirements
Tanzania requires a Yellow Fever vaccination certificate from travellers arriving from or transiting through countries with risk of yellow fever transmission. Direct flights from Canada do not require this certificate, but connecting through an endemic country (e.g., Ethiopia, Kenya) may trigger the requirement.
Additionally, travellers are advised to:
- Take malaria prophylaxis (consult your travel health clinic)
- Ensure routine vaccinations are up to date (Hepatitis A & B, Typhoid)
- Consider travel health insurance covering medical evacuation
